| Caption (back) | Bay St. Louis, Miss. - This is the S-11 test stand at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Mississippi Test Facility, where the site's first static firing took place April 23, 1966. The S-11-T, all-systems test version of the S-11 second stage of the Saturn V space vehicle, shown here in the stand, was successfully ground fired for 15 seconds. A second S-11 test stand is being constructed in MTF's Saturn V Test Complex. |
